I haven’t been feeling called to writing in a while, though I’ve been journaling and reflecting so much for the past several weeks. My time has been spent moving through astrological events, personal events, and stepping into a sacred project 4 years in the making.
A part of my reflections as of late are on my personal journey and especially my journey in womanhood. As I enter the period just before my Saturn return and my priorities are illuminated, as well as my “maturity” being redefined, I am sitting with the parts of womanhood I have never had such appreciation for until now.
And so here are my musings of the day, without editing yet with much intention nonetheless:
I’ve never been dainty.
I’ve always been loud. Clumsy.
I still can’t ride a bike. I have bad balance and my laugh is disruptive.
Even when I shrunk myself I couldn’t help but take up space.
All of these things used to be my burden to bear; taking up way too much space in my thoughts, and influencing the choices I made. (ALL of the choices I made.)
Now I can clearly see it was my invitation to be who I am. I am loud so that everyone can hear me. I take up space because it is important that I am seen. When I knock things over and forgive myself, I remind others that mistakes are human and solutions are aplenty.
I hold space, every day, for people to dream BIGGER. Especially women. I encourage, foster, and give permission for their plans to be “too much.” Because when the proper space is made, it fits just right.
I used to be uncomfortable with the word femininity. I’d turn my nose up at it. But it was out of shame and embarrassment, not empowerment.
How do I define it now? The expression of the deep inner waters of the divine feminine. And it looks different on every single one of us. Pure magic.
I look forward to opening many containers for us in the future, to explore this concept together. And to continue to reframe and redefine the labels we have allowed others to place upon our distinct ways of navigating.
May your divine femininity be loved, exactly how it is.
